The system provides for multiple mailboxes and instant distribution over a single Modem/Internet Connection and Internet ID.

• External Mail
  
  Emails can come in from the external Internet and email can go out from the internal network.

  Emails will be routed among the internal users (without involving the external Internet)
  
  
• Auto or On-demand dialing
  
  The server can automatically dial up/connect to the Internet and download/upload emails in one shot. Also it can disconnect from the Internet when there is no pending email. This saves a lot on phone bills and the hassle of manual dialing.
  
  
• Ease of Use
  
  Mail can be retrieved from the server using standard protocols (POP3/IMAP) and popular email clients like Netscape Messenger, Eudora, Pine, etc. The users can use their favorite email clients. Practically no special training is required to get started.
  
  Optionally, our web based email solution can be used. It is standard based, cross platform, user friendly application. The user just needs a javascript enabled web browser to access emails. Further more she can retrieve her emails form any workstation/computer without requiring any special software setups. This type of email access will be similar to other web based mail like Yahoo mail, Hotmail, etc. (see the topic Web based access below in the optional section).
  
  
• IMAP support
  
  Users can remotely create/delete mailboxes using mailGATE's IMAP support. This feature enables them to segregate their email messages into multiple folders and sub-folders on the server itself.
  
  
• Unlimited Messages
  
  mailGATE supports unlimited messages and can be as large as the storage capacity of the server.
  
  
• Unlimited Internal Users
  
  mailGATE can support virtually unlimited number of users on a single server. No additional client licenses are required for adding an user or an email ID.
  
  Also with our optional web site support you can have unlimited external Internet email accounts without having to pay anything extra (see below in optional section).
  
  
• Aliases/Mail Redirection
  
  mailGATE allows users to create aliases or ‘assumed or role names’. This feature helps user receive mail sent on the alias name, into one mailbox. For example sales@yourcompany.com can be redirected to info@yourcompany.com
  
  
• Email box sharing
  
  Share one or more external POP3/IMAP Mail account among many internal accounts/ mailboxes.
  
  
• Email Synchronizer
  
  mailGATE can get email from any number of POP3 accounts on more than one external email servers into one mailbox.

• Virus Scanning
  
  Emails are scanned for virii and malware on the fly. Virus and malware detection is done on the incoming mails and corrective actions can be initiated on a predefined basis. For example, emails of particular extensions like “.exe” can be deleted or stored in a temp or quarantine directory for future disposal.
  
  
• Web based Email access
  
  Our web based email interface allows users to access their emails form any computer in the organization. When using this option the user does not need any special email software like Outlook, Eudora, etc.

• Unlimited External or Internet email accounts
  
  With our optional web site support you can have unlimited internet or external email accounts without having to pay anything extra for these accounts.
  
  Further more, all account related administration is in your hands. This means you do not have to depend on any external party like the web server owner, ISP, etc. (including us) for creating new accounts, deleting accounts, etc.
  
  
• Mailing List
  
  Mailing lists can be defined for individuals or groups to make mass mailing very simple and efficient.
  
  
• Anti Spamming
  
  Anti Spamming option can be added to mailGATE to prevent a spammer from using your mail server as a relay or jump point to flood other email servers. It prevents unwanted mail from being received and re-transmitted. It has an option to block all mails from particular IP address, domains or Users. This functionality is usually useful to those people who have direct connection to the Internet.

• Network Interface Card installed
• 200 MB Disk space (for a 20-25 users system )
• 64 MB or above memory
• DialUp / ISDN / leased line / DSL/ ADSL / wireless connection to the Internet

Clients:

Any internet capable client like Windows 9x/NT, Apple Mac, etc. with a standard POP3/IMAP client and a javascript enabled browser.
